No matter if you're a racing car enthusiast or not, you can
still have fun at HCMC's Rach Chiec Race Track. Opened in 1999,
the only Formula One Track in Vietnam boasts a 750m long track and
high-tech electronic time system. For beginners, there are ten
karts with a maximum speed of 80km per hour; for the more
experienced, there are twelve pro-karts reaching speeds of up to
100km per hour. Racetrack membership fees are $3000 for six months
and $500 annually. At weekends, the price is VND50,000 for five
rounds. Rach Chiec Race Track is on the Hanoi Highway to Thu Duc
District, around 3km from Saigon Bridge, HCMC. You can take a taxi
or bus from the centre of HCMC, or get there by motobike. Open
daily from 10am - 10pm. Beginner races are held on Tuesday
evenings, professional races are on Sunday evenings.
