Location: Phu Dong canton, Gia Lam District
Commemoration: Phu Dong victory against the An army in the reign of King Hung the 6th
Major festivals – Activities: Water procession, accompanied by drums, gongs and Ai Lao dancers.
 

LADY TAM’S TEMPLE FESTIVAL

Date: the 19th day of the 2nd lunar month, and the 25th day of the 7th lunar month
Location: Lady Tam’s Temple, km 16 on Highway No.5 from Hanoi to Haiphong.
Commemoration: Lady Tam’s sponsorship in building 72 pagodas
Major festivals – Activities: Palanquin procession, human chess game, music and songs, wrestling, and other games.
 

LE MAT FESTIVAL

Date: The 23rd day of the 3rd lunar month
Location: Le Mat village on highway No.5, Gia Lam District
Commemoration: Victory against monster snake in the times of King Ly Thai Tong reign (1072-1127)
Major festivals – Activities: Water procession, snake dance, flight against snake monster.

LUONG QUY VILLAGE FESTIVAL

Date: Lasting 5 for 6 days from the 5th day of the 2nd lunar month
Location: Dong Anh Ward, National Highway No.1A
Commemoration:  The triplet deities Thong, Duy and Giang who had contribution to the victory against the An invaders in the Hung dynasty.
Major festivals – Activities: Traditional music show, rice cooking competition
 

MOC VILLAGE FESTIVAL

Date: the 19th day of the 2nd lunar month, and the 25th day of the 7th lunar month
Location: Lady Tam’s Temple, km 16 on Highway No.5 from Hanoi to Haiphong.

RICE COOKING IN THI CAM

Major festivals – Activities: Competition of  rice cooking, starting from scratch, including getting water supply, making fire and grinding rice still in hulk
 

SOC TEMPLE FESTIVAL

Date: the 7th day of the 1st lunar month
Location: Soc Son Temple, 40 km from Hanoi
Commemoration: the ascension to heaven by Phu Dong Thien Vuong from Soc Mountain after his victory against An invaders
Major festivals – Activities: Boat and elephant procession
 

THUONG CAT VILLAGE FESTIVAL

Date: from the 10th to 12th day of the 3rd lunar month
Location: Thuong Cat village, Tu Liem Ward
Commemoration: the village deities Thuong Cat, Dong Ba, and there heroes Quach Lang, Bach Nuong, Tinh Nuong who helped the Trung sisters in their fight against the Chinese invaders
Major festivals – Activities: Palanquin procession, cock fight, rice cooking, and sport competition such as wrestling, boat racing, running…
 

TRAN VO FESTIVAL

Date: The 1st to 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month
Location: Gia Lam District
Commemoration: Huyen Thien Tran Vo who is the protective deity for Thang Long, the former name of Hanoi capital
Major festivals – Activities: Flag procession, traditional stage show, cock fight, tug-of-war
 

VUA PAGODA FESTIVAL

Date: the 5th to 9th of the 1st lunar month
Location: Pho Hue Ward, Hai Ba Trung District
Commemoration: Deity Indra ( De Thich)
Major festivals – Activities: National chess competition
 

TRIEU KHUC  FESTIVAL

Date: the 10th day of the first lunar month
Location: Trieu Khuc village, Thanh Tri District in Hanoi suburb
Commemoration: Bo Cai Dai Vuong who defeated the Chinese Tang army in 791 AD
Major festivals – Activities: Dragon and lion dance procession, mock military battle

Date: the 5th - 7th of the 3rd lunar month
Location: in Thay pagoda, Ha Tay Province
Commemoration: Tu Dao Hanh, a Buddhist monk who became king and who created Vietnamese puppetry.
Major festivals – Activities: the water puppet show , hiking, rock climbing and many other games.
